This house is a disaster, but in a pretty good location.
Oh, but it is SO gross.
Everything is moldy.
Everything is dirty.
The house basically needs to be gutted down to the studs in most places. So that is what we are cheerfully doing.
De-construction can actually be kind of fun.
There's something satisfying about taking out a bunch of screws and watching an entire kitchen's worth of moldy kitchen cabinets fall down.
I love before and after photos. Jan got some great "before" photos a while back, so I will post those eventually. For now, here is a photo of Alan and Jan knocking out a brick corner where a wood-stove used to sit.
