Rewind

The frost on my windshield this morning suggested that, indeed, we've entered the Autumn season. Iowa's best! Pumpkins, harvest, pumpkin pie, hunkering down, pumpkin cake, apple orchards, jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin juice.. uhm, pumpkins..

This summer has been pretty filled with activity -- I thought I'd post a few photos to "summer-ize". Ok, ok, I'll stop. Below you can see some fun we had in Dubuque this weekend at various Fall-Apple-Squash festivals in the Tri-state area. I've also thrown in some photos that were stuck on my phone from earlier this summer. But first, a snapshot from one of the complementary Airline publications that is stowed in the seat-pocket in front of you:
This photo and caption is introducing a renown hotel staffperson named Christian Jurgens, who, yes, you read it right, is the chief chef at Hotel Uberfahrt in Germany.

Violet was ecstatic at the thought of operating this vintage tractor.

Quite pleased..

Ezra and I both hope to raise goats some-day.

"Sadie, you're cramping my style!"

"Much better..."

Sadie showing off her toothy grin at Thomas.
Parenting 101: When the diaper breaks, use duct-tape.

"Dad, look what I found on the ground at Target! Can I eat it?!"

Climbing trees after a Cornerstone picnic @ Taube.

Ezra after picking a bouqet for his little sister.

Judah testing his mettle on the spider web.
Not to be outdone...

Suffice it to say, more work than I thought it would be. On the other hand, I've learned how to install vinyl siding, framed up a bit of the interior, and repaired lots of dry rot. Up next: drywall, and the remodel of a bathroom and kitchen.

Looks like a great summer. Seeing how fast your kids are growing up makes me want to go and hold Levi right now!
