Spring Bonanza

It seems like every year from Christmas until Spring I pretty much neglect the blog, and end up posting one huge update around March-April.

So here it is.

-Our computer crashed and we lost *almost* everything. Recovered a few documents and photos (mostly worthless stuff and duplicates)
-Ezra turned 5
-we mulched our entire garden and started our plants
-I got a hair cut
-dog training
-working on the rental
-we've had a LOT of people over and played a LOT of board games
-We signed up with the local Home School Assistance Program (get to check out and use some resources instead of buying them, and they offer classes and all kinds of other fun stuff. Come June I'll be assigned a supervising teacher who will check in with us a few times a year to fulfill the state requirement.)

It just doesn't sound like we've done much in the last three months. But we are almost done with Sadie's first year of homeschooling and it has been a lot more work than I thought it would be. We've enjoyed it a lot though. We love almost all the books that Sonlight includes in their programs, and it's nice that I can do the reading with all the kids at once.

So without further ado, here are some photos.

These are the only photos left from Ezra's birthday. They're both blurry, but I kind of like them anyway. The bottom one has a painterly quality to it, I think.
Picklebot Log.
New haircut, for those who are curious.
Dog training.

Love lies bleeding and basil.
Tomatoes.
Newly mulched garden. It had better keep the weeds down, or I might just go crazy.
Violet has graduated from whispering to talking. Hooray!

We love all the new pictures, especially Ezra's exuberant birthday pose and the gorgeous mulched garden! Sara, you've got a birthday coming up and we hope you have a happy one!

I like the haircut! The garden plot looks nice. And the one nice thing about keeping a blog is you can save the photos back off of it and you never TOTALLY loose some of your life's worth of pictures! (a reason to blog more?! :)

Good job homeschooling this year! I bet it a BIG job!

You're right, Alissa! We thought we had lost all our pictures from Italy (we did recover those), but at the time it was nice to know at least some of the best ones were on the blog.

I love all the photos. You had a huge job spreading all that mulch, it looks great, as do all your seedlings. I am so ready for consistently nice weather! This week has been great.
