Jan, this is for you!
Thanks to the half hour of sewing machine technical support provided by Jan, I was able to finish these two dresses for the girls. This was supposed to be easy fabric to make a dress with and it was just cut and sew until I got to the sleeves...that took a little more time. We improvised that part though. :)
Next project in line: quick dog bed. She's getting a little big to keep hoisting onto Ezra's top bunk!

Great job, Sara! I have the fondest memories of my mom and grandma sewing for me. You're a great mom!

The dresses are adorable! I love the fabric. Are the the first look-alike dresses the girls have worn? I am so proud of you for making them! I'll bet the girls are so excited to wear them. I am SOO glad that we were able to talk through the sewing machine problems. That can be the MOST FRUSTRATING thing about sewing (right, Hillary?). Let me warn you about the dog bed, it usually takes much more stuffing than you'd ever expect. Also, I noticed that Dixie's dog bed had cedar chips mixed in with the batting, to keep it smelling better. I don't know if it really helped. There weren't a lot of the chips, maybe a couple cupfuls. Anyway, happy sewing!
What cute girls and what cute dresses! They look great, Sara! I love having a finished product that I have created. It makes the frustration with sewing machine malfunctions more tollerable :) I wished we lived closer and could do a sewing day once in awhile.
Nice job on the dresses!
